PERCHÉ UN MUSEO DELLA RESISTENZA BERGAMASCA ALLA MALGA LUNGA
La Malga Lunga, Museo-Rifugio della Resistenza bergamasca, è situato quasi in cima al monte di Sovere, a quota 1235 m.
Il fabbricato, stalla viciniale fin dal medioevo, prende il nome dal lunghissimo portico. Ospita – fin dalla sua donazione da parte di Gianni Radici al Comune di Sovere del 1979, fortemente voluta dai partigiani – il Museo della 53ª Brigata Garibaldi “13 Martiri di Lovere” che, a seguito degli interventi di restauro e ristrutturazione, diventa Museo della Resistenza bergamasca.
Il 6 ottobre 2005 viene stipulato un Comodato d’uso gratuito tra il Comune di Sovere e l’ANPI Provinciale di Bergamo per la gestione della Malga Lunga e con lo scopo di realizzarvi tutti gli interventi necessari per la realizzazione di una struttura multimediale e di un’aula didattica in grado di mantenere vive e attuali le idee e le azioni di tanti uomini e donne che, anche nella nostra provincia, hanno combattuto per la libertà del nostro Paese dal nazifascismo, contribuendo alla nascita della Repubblica Italiana e alla stesura della Costituzione.
Un museo che vuole rivolgersi e “parlare” a tutti i visitatori, con una particolare attenzione al mondo della scuola, perché «un museo è un’istituzione permanente, senza scopo di lucro, al servizio della società e del suo sviluppo. È aperto al pubblico e compie ricerche che riguardano le testimonianze materiali e immateriali dell’umanità e del suo ambiente; le acquisisce, le conserva, le comunica e, soprattutto, le espone a fini di studio, educazione e diletto» (dallo Statuto dell’ICOM, International Council of Museums).
WHY A MUSEUM OF THE BERGAMO RESISTANCE MOVEMENT AT THE MALGA LUNGA
The Malga Lunga is the hut-museum of the Bergamo Resistance Movement. It is located almost on the top of the mount of Sovere, at elevation 1,235 m above sea level. The building, which had been a stall since Medieval times, takes its name after its peculiar long porch. Since it was donated by Gianni Radici to the Municipality of Bergamo – a donation strongly urged by the Partisans – the building hosts the museum of the 53rd Garibaldi Brigade, the so called “13 Martiri di Lovere” (13 martyrs from Lovere). After some restorations and renovations, the structure became the Museum of the Bergamo Resistance Movement.
On 6th October 2005 the municipality of Sovere and the provincial ANPI (National Association of Italian Partisans) signed a free loan agreement for the management of the Malga Lunga with the aim of realizing a multimedial structure and a didactic environment in order to keep alive the ideas and actions of the many men and women who, in our province too, fought for setting our country free from Nazi-Fascism and contributed to the birth of the Italian Republic and to the writing of its Constitution.
The Malga Lunga is therefore a museum which addresses to all the visitors, but paying particular attention to schools, since “a museum is a non-profit, permanent institution in the service of society and its development, open to the public, which acquires, conserves, researches, communicates and exhibits the tangible and intangible heritage of humanity and its environment for the purposes of education, study and enjoyment” (from the Statutes of the ICOM, International Council of Museums).
